"Wave" is an album concept that has been under development for the last couple of years. The music is a combination of old school video game music and heavy metal guitar shredding. All music is instrumental.
Though the general idea of combining the guitarplaying styles of metal and vg music isn't entirely original, I've always felt that the potential of the mixture has been somewhat overlooked.
Whereas many bands experimenting with a fusion of rock/metal and vg music play either live instrument covers of old vg tunes or use mechanical/musical elements rooted in vg music merely as sort of a musical gimmick, the basic idea of Wave is to make a musical hybrid that forges the compositional styles of the various genres into a coherent, idiomatic whole.
